In one of the Latin American countries, a villainous murder was committed: Hugo Vinchero was murdered - a millionaire, the pride of the nation, comes from the bottom of society, a man who fervently defends the idea of his country's independence from the influence of foreign capital. Soviet journalist Alyoshin, who is in this country on a business trip, involuntarily gets involved in the outbreak of events. He witnesses the kidnapping of photographer Cardenas, who at the last moment manages to give Alyoshin a film directed to Ugo Vinchera. After a meeting with Aleshin, Vinchero is found killed. A Soviet journalist and his friend, a local photojournalist Vergara, are beginning to search for the killer ...
